Flying upside-down or sideways at top speed and maintaining a constant altitude, more or less indefinitely, is just fine. G-forces are not a thing, as making hairpin turns in any direction while travelling hundreds of miles an hour won’t bother you or your aircraft. It’s possible to land on about 100 feet of runway by coming to almost a complete stop mid-air and then barely kissing the ground with your wheels at the last second. The controls are very arcadey, even without Novice Mode enabled. There’s lots of detail and variety in terms of different aircraft and loadouts, but it’s definitely not a simulation in the sense of the games I grew up with, like IL-2 Sturmovik. It’s more like a modern Top Gun game, sticking you in the cockpit of a jet as a superhuman mercenary ace for some pulpy, cinematic dogfighting action. Project Wingman isn’t really that, and it’s not trying to be. In spite of all that, Project Wingman is the arcade plane game I come back to over and over again. Sure, there isn't as big of a variety of planes or weapons, the graphics aren't as good overall, and there's less customisation, it goes without saying that a game made by 2 people will not meet the standards of an AAA game. You can actually aim with the cannons and have a fair shot of taking flying enemies down with em, and it feels fantastic when you do so. The AOA limiter is extremely fun to use and way more enjoyable than AC7's high g turn system. Friendly and enemy AI actually fight and destroy each other.

The story here is better, the characters are more likeable, the voice acting is believable. I don't get how basically 2 people managed to make a plane game that is in many ways a more competent game than AC7, which was presumably made by 100 or so people.
